The old guy became a programmer in six months, all you need to do is...

Hi all! When I read employment stories, I, like everyone else, really wanted to share the same story in the future. But, like most people, when you get closer to the point you forget about it or become lazy. But on today’s significant (for me) date, I simply have to pay tribute to the developer community. So, sit back and get ready to listen to a short but unusual employment story. Exactly a year ago, when I was 30 years old, I decided to become a programmer. There was no experience in this or related areas. I changed many fields, mainly financial, by that time I had been unemployed for several months, thinking about what to do that would be interesting and bring at least some benefit to humanity. And it was on May 14 that the idea of becoming a developer came to me (apparently it was serious, since I remembered the date). I thought: even if I don’t dedicate my whole life to this, I will at least get closer to the programming mindset that I have always admired and which I lacked. Almost immediately I started learning Javarush. And almost immediately I accidentally got an interesting remote job in support of an Internet marketing company. 3 months I worked a little bit and learned Java. During this time, I completed 10 free levels on javarush and bought one month of subscription and waited for the promotion. And so, closer to September, when I was about level 20, I quit my part-time job, bought an unlimited subscription to javarush and devoted a couple more months to learning Java. I would like to say that I studied full time on javarush, but this would not be true :( I am a terrible procrastinator, and if I spent time studying, it was a couple of hours a day. As for the completion time, I think that the first levels took me about 2 days, and at the end for 5 days. As a result, in 5 months of training I reached level 27! (Hand on heart, doing full time on weekdays, it’s easy to reach this level in 2 months). As for javarush.ru - I not super enthusiastic about learning. That is, I am extremely grateful for the motivation, for at least some direction, for the plugin in Intellij, etc. (and that’s understandable, since I thanked you twice with a penny), but I constantly had to turn to third-party materials , get distracted by some training videos (so as not to go crazy), etc. And one more thing (which I’ve been dreaming of writing for a whole year): what kind of stupid example is Cat cat = new Cat();?!?! Stsuko, I was wildly indignant when at the very beginning this crap constantly came up in lessons! Then it’s explained very far in the course, why the word cat is repeated three times, but at the beginning it’s not only not clear, but it’s wildly infuriating and I, swearing, throw it up hundreds of times hands to the sky. So, after 5 months of learning Java and 27 levels of javarush, I found a tutorial on the Internet on how to create a small web application, repeated it, wrote a summary and mentioned this application in the summary. No Spring, Hibernate, etc. were listed on the resume, only Java Core. I posted my resume, but in a couple of weeks I didn’t seem to respond to a single vacancy, I wasn’t in much of a hurry. Suddenly they called me and invited me for an interview. After my first interview with the first company, they sent me an offer. And exactly 6 months after the decision to change profession, at 31 years old, I went to work. And now I’ve been a junior programmer for six months. There's not a lot to deal with with Java, but I go to work every day happy as hell. Probably, from the point of view of technical details, my story is absolutely useless. But it will be great for motivation, because... I looked at other employment stories, and this is kind of cruel, people study for years, know technologies that I have never heard of, but cannot find a job. Unfortunately, like all the other storytellers, I won’t mention details about the work (city, company, salary). But, if it’s really interesting, then: Moscow, Jet Infosystems, 62,000 rubles :)
