Chronicles of the former 1C nickname

Published in the Random EN group
  • 1999 The first computer.

My parents bought a computer. There is no limit to happiness, only in Mhz and a video card. But Hellfire flies. I’m playing Diablo online with a friend, and I can’t help but think “how does this work”? We learned about a bug in reproducing money through the portal. There are more thoughts.

  • 2000 Technical College.

Soldiers of Fortune slows down, Diablo2 generally pauses when a bunch of monsters appear. A little NFS. Let's continue playing Diablo. I am entering the technical school of our small town to become a “programmer”. Life has become more fun. The ruler adds new colors to life (but quickly gets boring, because you often get textures for free).

  • 2001 Java.

A friend brings a disk from Moscow as a gift (I don’t remember why) with the label “Modern programming tools” (something like that) printed on a plain sheet of paper and badly cropped. On the back I see the inscription “Java – a new word in software development.” I sleep little and poorly; I dream about the life of a programmer, like in a movie.

… youth …
  • 2004-2008 Adulthood.

Graduated from technical school. Entered the University. In our small town there are no IT-related jobs, but there are a lot of other “jobs”. He was a salesman, a salesman, some kind of manager, a salesman. My father gets me a job as an “Oil and Gas Production Operator” (sounds many times better than what the job is).

  • 2009 1C.

The world (not the whole) was captured by 1C. Seven everywhere. I dream of becoming a 1C nickname. I find a company that recruits employees, trains them and, by an undocumented agreement of the parties, obliges him to work for at least a year. Parents don't mind. Let's go.

  • 2012 St. Petersburg

Can't sit still. My wife and I are moving to St. Petersburg. I continue the dark path of 1C.

... career :) ... (from friends: 1C-nickname is not a programmer; I stop celebrating the 256th day)
  • 2016-2017 Javarush.

Great job, wife, daughter, friends, but something is wrong. My thoughts are boiling over a friend who took all his strength and the strength of his wife and retrained as a Ruby developer in a year.
I want changes. “Java, Java, Java…” is spinning in the subconscious. I hear “Javarush” from a friend. I don’t attach much importance, I assumed it was another money scam. But I started thinking about self-study.
I'm starting to smoke Java. This is tough.
All paths on the Internet lead to Javarush. I'm starting. I read reviews. People write that they completed 5 levels, that it is too easy, there is no point in continuing. I think these are the people. I'm moving on. 10 behind, no stopping.
I decide, I quit, I resume my studies, I quit – it’s infuriating. Validator is bad, Javarush is bad. It doesn't come in as easily as I would like.

  • 2017 27lvl + Innopolis

I am delighted with what is happening, I study during working hours (without compromising productivity, I thought of everything). I study in my free time. I bought an e-book and read it everywhere (in the subway).
I feel like I need to speed up. A long history of getting into a 2-month advanced training course in the field of Java development in the wonderful (in a sense) city of Innopolis. The knowledge gained in Javarush and experience in 1C and SQL is enough to get the most out of the courses.

  • 2017 The end of the year. SBT.

At the end of the year I receive a long-awaited, long-awaited offer from Sberbank Technologies.
    I am a Java developer.
Great team, great leader. Lots and lots of useful experience and contacts.

  • 2018 New offer.

Forced to change jobs, requires a higher level of income. In SBT they may not raise it as much as we would like. I am pleasantly surprised that after gaining the first, albeit short-term, experience, interviews and the attitude of recruiters are completely different. You choose.
I've been in my new place for six months now. The income level returned to the income level when working in 1C. I am restoring the “losses” incurred during fairly long-term retraining.
Work is pleasure. Modern stack, a lot of time for research, participation in the design decisions made.

Everything is ahead... PS To learn, you need to learn. PSS Good luck with your studies everyone. If you quit, just start again. PSSS Happy New 2019 everyone.
