JavaRush - 9 years old! A little about the results and plans

Published in the Random EN group
Hello from the CodeGym team! Today the project turned 9 years old, and we want to share this holiday with our huge community: in 2021 it has grown to 2 million people without a tail :) By tradition, we sum up the main results of the year and share teasers of big plans for the future.

So, the results:

1. New opportunities for personalization of learning

The augmented and expanded Java Syntax quest, which we tested in beta mode last year, has become a full-fledged part of the CodeGym course. We made sure that each new user can study in a format convenient for him and taking into account his knowledge base:
  • at the start, you can take a test in Java, and the course will adapt to your “base”;
  • you can choose the style of presenting the material: conversational, gamified, or classic — familiar to most of our users — without water.

2. Development of multiplatform

We continue to develop the CodeGym mobile application for Android . In two years, 335,000 users from 176 countries have downloaded the application, and every fifth user actively uses it to take a Java course. Well, we, in turn, continue developing the application for iOS and plan to go into beta in the new year :)

3. Multilingualism and global markets

This summer we have added English and Ukrainian interface languages on the website and in the CodeGym application. But, of course, we have gathered the most “motley” Java community on our multilingual project - CodeGym. Recently, we have noticed more and more new students from the CIS on our multilingual project CodeGym . It already has 630,000 registered users from dozens of countries, most of them students from the United States, Poland, Germany, and China.

… And plans:

To be honest, for the first time I have to sum up the results, having more plans than results, but it just so happened that our team generated a bunch of ideas in the first half of 2021, and now it remains only to implement everything step by step... We guys are not too superstitious, but in order not to spoil the surprise, we will leave only a few key words-tips in the plans:
  • bringing CodeGym gamification to a new level;
  • new plugin;
  • new learning formats on CodeGym.
Okay, let's not spare words on the last point. Moreover, you probably found a letter in your mail with an offer to participate in the annual training program on CodeGym - Java Developer in 12 Months . The first group starts this week. So if you haven’t heard / didn’t have time / want to participate, but not right now, leave a request : we will form the following learning streams. Finally - as always, we want to say a huge thank you to all of you for giving us new ideas, supporting each other and staying with us even after graduation. Cheers cheers :)
We regularly write about all the innovations and improvements, as well as about learning Java and career development as a developer in the “Articles” section. In order not to miss useful posts, do not forget to open your mail on Thursdays and read the Java digest. And, of course, subscribe to CodeGym in Telegram .
