Got my first job as a programmer in 9 months

Published in the Random EN group
I'll start from the very beginning. First, I quit my job (public procurement specialist) and stayed at home with the child; this need arose due to my wife’s promotion at her job. Once at home, I invested in the stock market and studied cryptocurrencies, and also made plans to open a startup. All this in January led me to studying how websites are created, and in February to creating servers. I had programming experience in Pascal at school and at the first institute; it makes no sense to say that I remembered begin, end, if, then, else; it did not help me in any way in learning Java. However, at my last place of work there were huge registers of procurement data in ecxcel, many formulas and scripts were used there that I helped develop, this helped me in understanding the programming logic. I started learning Java in a free course on Yandex Workshop java free block. Then I read the Java book. Schildt's Beginner's Guide. Then I read Head First Java. In parallel with books, I watched everything on YouTube. Unfortunately channel alishevI found it much later. After Head First I decided to write a working environment for a fitness club, to say that the code was complete crap is an understatement, but thanks to this I learned SQL and javaFX normally. It was a shame to post such code even back then in May June. After realizing that my code was very crooked, I realized that I needed to write but not meaningless programs, and that’s where javarush appeared. Starting from that moment, which is mid-June, I began to quickly gain skills and knowledge. Quests on javarush can, of course, be very funny and have ill-conceived conditions, but for the money, I think this is a very cool project. I solved all the problems in a row and didn’t miss anything at all. Until I complete all the tasks, I don’t open any further lessons. I completed the first two quests with this approach. At the time of completing the second quest, my balance was somewhere around 1000+ essence. After the second quest was closed, around the end of August, I updated my resume on headhunter and started sending it to everyone who was at least willing to consider a person without knowledge of spring and without work experience. Since, as a rule, for a Java programmer, multithreading is not so necessary as collections, I decided to first go to the collection quest. As I acquired new knowledge and skills, I added them to my resume. In response to my responses, I only received feedback a few times where I had to complete some tasks and give an interview about myself. No one even came close to considering me as a contender. However, at the end of October I received a letter of happiness about an invitation to an interview; I could not even imagine that I would be accepted. However, at the interview they explained to me that they were ready to invest in my knowledge so that I would work for them not for half a year, but for a long time and develop their system. After a week of checking me, they called me and invited me to work. Since November I became a programmer. I don’t think that I’m even a junior, although among my friends there are no programmers or people close to it in general, so there’s no one to compare with. But I understand that my current employer saw my potential for growth, because... my resume and the history of my previous works show that I am moving towards the goal and achieving success, apparently this was the key to the fact that they chose me (besides me there were 8 other candidates). I will also add that I am confident that I will not disappoint my employer. At the moment I am level 25 and I started missing tasks, I want to get level 35 for the internship by the end of the year. I’ve also now started learning English, unfortunately my level is zero. I also went into the IT field not because of the salaries, any cool specialist in any field will earn good money, I went because I saw the huge potential in automating a large number of work processes that people do today with their own hands. I don’t know who might like this article, I’m writing it more so that people can understand that even without knowledge of Spring, you can get a job as a programmer, the main thing is desire and strength. I also want to express my huge respect to the teamJavaRush , you are very cool.
