The developer has created a browser-based copy of the classic Microsoft Paint

In fact, developments of this kind are a dime a dozen. This is the thought that most likely came to your mind when reading the title. In fact, it is, but so what? First, the vast majority of our readers are novice developers, and many of them could use ideas for their own educational apps. Copying something existing is the most common and effective method of practical training.

Secondly, the news here is not about some kind of “image editor in the browser”, but about a warm lamp, primitive to the point of horror, but so familiar to many Microsoft Paint in the form it was in Windows 98. Remember this operating system or too young for this? Developer Isaiah Odner's goal was to recreate the old MS Paint and open up previously unknown functions for users, including moving the toolbar, drawing with a selected area, or creating a "GIF" from the canvas's editing history. The brainchild of an enthusiast was named JS Paint (you can immediately conclude that he wrote in Java Script, which is quite logical in the case of browser-based development) and allows you to use the full set of functions of the original, including painting with different brushes, painting other areas, the ability to add primitive figures, as well as editing existing images by simply opening them from your computer or pasting them from a link. Odner is working on improving the program and now, on Github , he shared all the implemented and planned functions, and also provided access to the source code of his application. Let us remember that it became possible to get acquainted with standard Paint for the first time in 1985, when the first version of the Windows OS was released. Today it is known that the company that created Paint, Microsoft, refused to support the graphics editor, but at the same time, the program remains available in the application store.
Would you like to recreate some program as a graduation project in Javarush? If yes, which one?
