Gentlemen, could you explain to a fool how FilterInputStreeam and FilterOutputStream work and what they are for? Preferably with code examples for each class. I read everything that was about them in Thinking Java + javadoc + google + Shildt, but I still didn’t really understand. Why do they have protected constructors?
