1. Software eats world
In 2011, Marc Andreessen, a legend of Silicon Valley and co-founder of the Andreessen Horowitz fund, wrote the article "Why software is eating the world". Even then he noticed: software has become the main driving force of the economy and is pushing out traditional professions. And this trend is only accelerating.
Computers, the internet, and mobile apps have changed the usual order of things. There were those who were left out because of technology, and there were those who built entire fortunes. All of this is a normal story for a time of change. Peasants once left the fields, machines replaced workers, and now in place of huge accounting departments there is one specialist with 1C and automation skills.
Technology consistently increases labor productivity. Machines and robots eliminate routine work, while "smart" software increases demand for skilled specialists who know how to manage this technology and create new services. One professional with modern tools can replace a dozen employees from the previous generation — and earn several times more. The result: services become cheaper, businesses become more profitable, and specialists become more valuable.
Such technological booms happen regularly: recently it was cryptocurrency, and now it is artificial intelligence. And if you did not manage to buy Bitcoin at $1, then you will not have to wait long for the next chance: the new wave has already begun!
2. Artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence has been created. In autumn 2022, the organization OpenAI introduced the product ChatGPT 3.5. And the world will never be the same again.
This AI passed the Turing test with ease. It can play chess at a grandmaster level and has passed exams at the most prestigious universities. And every six months its capabilities double. Which can only be good news. Welcome to the future.
The largest technology companies joined the AI race. Demand for AI specialists is growing at a furious pace. Microsoft plans to spend $100 billion just on building data centers for training AI. The other technology companies are not lagging behind either. There is now fierce competition among IT giants for everything related to AI: servers, data centers, specialists, scientists.
This is interesting. Facebook has started a real hunt for top AI programmers. In summer 2025, it hired several real superstars:
- poached Zhuomin Pang from Apple for $250 million;
- poached Alexander Wang from Scale AI for $200 million
- poached Trapit Bansal from OpenAI for $100 million
- poached Nat Friedman from GitHub for $100 million
- poached Daniel Gross from Safe Superintelligence for $50 million
All of these specialists have been brought into Meta on record-breaking terms — contracts and bonuses like these were not even seen among executives at many corporations. Right now the fight for AI talent is a real "arms race," and Meta decided to play for keeps.
3. And how will this affect you?
The news is actually great. First, it is already clear how the AI business will develop. Judging by everything, AI companies will provide the service AI as a service: that is, they will not try to push all competitors out of the market, but will simply become AI contractors.
Second, any revolution, including a technological one, is an opportunity to make a fast career. "Can't stop it? Lead it!" So ignoring the AI revolution is unwise; the smart move is to join it. Better yet, be one of the first.
Human + AI will push out human without AI. Just as a human with a spear defeated a human with a stick, a human with a rifle defeated a human with a spear, and so on. Artificial intelligence will greatly increase the productivity of people who know how to work with it. And such specialists will be needed everywhere.
And third. Over the next decade, a bunch of products and internet services will appear that will do ordinary people's work better, faster, and cheaper. This will take the global economy to a new level.
Without a doubt, these companies will need top specialists who can use AI to create products that, together with AI, will provide services. You need to become such a person.
4. "You were supposed to fight evil, not join it"
Will AI replace programmers? No. Quite the opposite. Programmers will replace all other professions with the help of AI. The last profession to disappear will be programmer.
Go to the dark side. The dark side of AI opens the way to possibilities that many consider unnatural...

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: what a web page is made of
The agent's report says "changed the styles" and you are left guessing what it actually touched. We take apart the three files of a simple page: index.html says what is on it, style.css sets the look, script.js adds the action. One Play button lives in all three at once.
Skills: how to hand your agent a ready-made ability
You are explaining the same procedure to the agent for the third time, and slightly differently each time. A skill writes it down into a folder with a SKILL.md file, and it gets picked up by its description - that line decides whether the skill fires or just sits on disk.
Why AI gets things wrong so confidently
The model has no separate tone for a verified fact and another for a guess: both come out equally calm. So look not at how convincing the answer is, but at what it stands on - a file, a line, the output of a command. Three checks take a minute.
How a Large Language Model Works
The answer in the terminal does not appear all at once, it types itself out piece by piece. That is the model at work: it scores the continuation of the text and adds one token at a time. Thinking comes from the same place, and so does knowledge that turns out almost right.
