Facebook has chosen Microsoft Visual Studio Code as its main development platform

Microsoft's open source integrated development environment - VS Code or Visual Studio Code - has been chosen as the main platform for developing products and applications by Facebook. Although Facebook makes VS Code the default developer environment, company spokesman Joel Marcy clarified that there is no "mandatory development environment" within the company, so some developers use other platforms such as Vim and Emacs. “Visual Studio Code is a very popular development tool, with great investment and support from Microsoft and the open source community. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and has a robust and well-defined API that allows us to continue creating large-scale developments for the company,” Marcy said. Source: ZDnet

Durov called on everyone to delete WhatsApp

The creator of the popular Telegram messenger Pavel Durov urged users to delete WhatsApp from their smartphones. In his opinion, the competing messenger is not able to protect personal data. In his appeal, published today on Telegram, Durov claims that WhatsApp is “constantly used as a Trojan horse,” including for spying on users’ photos and their correspondence. And this supposedly happens even when communicating through other messengers. IT news November 21: Durov against WhatsApp, the Ripple payment network chose Java, new features in Java 14 became known - 3“Why do they need this? Facebook was involved in spying programs long before it bought WhatsApp. It is naive to believe that the company will change its policy after the transaction,” Durov said. According to the founder of Telegram, detection of backdoors in WhatsApp occurs regularly - approximately every six months, which is very suspicious. This poses a particular danger for human rights activists and journalists, since there is a risk that US intelligence agencies could share this information with the authorities of other countries.
