Girl programmer

Most of those whom I retrained as programmers were girls. Now, several years later, I am proud of their success at work. Programming is not as difficult a job as it seems. The main thing is to get a good teacher in the beginning. If you are a girl and have a technical education, think about this:

1. Not only a male profession

Many girls work in IT, including as programmers. This is not a “purely male profession”. I know a girl who, after graduating from the Faculty of Mathematics, went to school as a mathematics teacher. Girls, if you are good at math, then you can get good at programming without any problems.

2. They love girls

Many programmers want a girl to join their team: the atmosphere in the team immediately changes. Sometimes this leads to higher salaries for girls, all other things being equal.

3. Girls are very popular

Guy programmers willingly help girls. Much more often than for guy programmers. There are even rumors among programmers that if you want something explained to you on an Internet forum, it’s better to immediately introduce yourself as a girl.

4. Men's team

Many girls like working in a male team. Moreover, if there is more than one girl in a team, they usually immediately “divide” the guys, and each begins to protect her own and treacherously feed the strangers with cakes.

5. Perspective

There are a lot of promising guys around. Yes, there are real geeks who are often made fun of in films. But most IT workers have high incomes, an excellent car, a very broad outlook, and have managed to visit a dozen countries and communicate with a lot of interesting people. Many people play sports, lead a healthy lifestyle, go hiking and look for ways to be creative. Hint understood?

6. Independence

Many girls are accustomed to relying only on themselves and want to be “free and independent.” A well-paid job can provide you with a decent life, a good car, and sometimes even your own apartment.

7. Reliability

Having a profession that is in demand all over the world is very reliable. Life can take you anywhere. Don't start with a dishwasher or a nanny.

8. Family

Even if your life's goal is family, it is still the right choice. Many IT companies provide paid maternity leave. I know a case when the amount of maternity payments reached $9,000, and this was in the midst of a crisis. Rarity, isn't it?
