According to Global Knowledge's annual report, the average IT professional, excluding specific country of residence, earns $89,732 per year. This is approximately $5,000 more than in 2018. The highest salaries by industry were recorded in cloud computing ($115,889), application architecture and design ($98,580), project management ($98,344) and cybersecurity ($97,322). In the US, wages in the IT sector have reached $113,639 per year. It is noted that this is largely due to geography. Wages in Silicon Valley were higher than in other regions, but the cost of living there was also very high. In Canada, the average annual salary for an IT specialist is $74,048.
