Late spring and summer is a great time to hang out, network, and generally have fun and benefit by attending various conferences and events for IT professionals. Usually at this time of the year there are a huge number of different events for programmers and all kinds of IT specialists. This year, a scoundrel coronavirus has treacherously stood in the way of IT people who want to hang out, so many live events have been postponed or canceled altogether.
But it doesn’t matter, because that’s why we are IT people, so as not to give in to difficulties, not to lose heart and use difficult circumstances to our advantage. So the organizers of events for programmers did not sit idly by and organized all sorts of online events for us. Below is a brief overview of the most interesting online events planned for May-June 2020.
Local events
Let's start with "our" online events, with organizers in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
When: May 8, 2020. Cost: Free. Online conference hosted by EPAM Systems. According to the organizers, this is a conference for those who: already write in Java; studied Java at the university, but the classes passed by; looking for his own programming language; thinks he already knows Java. During the event, a lot of discussions are expected on everything related to the Java programming language and its latest trends, comparison of Java 8 and Java 14 code, discussion of ServerLess, etc. Also during the event, the organizers promise to write a live program for monitoring the US stock market.

The only specialized conference for PHP developers in Russia has become free of charge, which, along with a set of quite serious speakers, makes it a really interesting event for PHP coders and those interested. “At PHP Russia, the best speakers of the PHP universe will tell you what is under the hood of the language and popular frameworks, how to achieve high performance and scale projects, how to save on infrastructure and prevent libraries from ruining your life when working with databases,” the organizers promise. Speakers include Andreas Heigl, German PHP expert and developer, Chris Holland, PHP developer with more than 20 years of experience, Nikolas Grekas, CTO of Blackfire.io, and others .
When: May 14-16, 2020. How much does it cost:for free. Three days of online reports and speeches dedicated to DevOps culture, modern technologies and practices in this area from international speakers. “Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, we are unable to host this event offline. However, we wanted DevOps Days Kyiv to take place, so we invited top speakers from all over the world to speak to you online on May 14-16. Visitors to DevOps Days Kyiv will be able to learn the latest DevOps trends and practices, and listen to how to properly implement this kind of technology in their companies,” say the organizers of the event. According to the poster, during the conference “designers from Facebook App, Atlassian, Kiwi and Octopus Investments will talk about their approaches to solving product issues and using the most important tool of a designer – thinking.” The reports will be built on practical cases, with figures, research, tasks and real results. When: May 16 How much: Free. The annual Belarusian conference for IT beginners will be held online this time. The program of this online conference includes more than 30 reports and meetups. Including on topics such as: auditing the current state, finding a problem that knowledge management solves, first steps and selection of tools, implementing a pilot project, implementing and scaling a knowledge management project, restarting a project.

Production AI is a technical and practical conference on the implementation of Data Science models in large projects with limited computing resources and high requirements. The virtual conference will take place in virtual reality - participants will be able to create their own VR avatars and communicate with speakers and other participants in this form. International events
Well, let's finish with a number of interesting international events.
When: May 11th. How much: Free. A major conference dedicated to corporate digitalization and cloud data management, organized by Rubrik. There are quite a few big names among the conference speakers. In particular, these are Hasan Minhaj, comedian and creator of the Netflix show The Patriot Act, John Thompson, one of the chairmen of the board of directors of Microsoft, and Bipul Sinha, co-founder and CEO of Rubrik .
When: May 12-13. How much: Free. RedisConf Takeaway is a free educational conference for developers and cloud professionals. The presentations will focus on the latest innovations and trends in data processing platforms. The event is expected to feature over 50 talks, a hackathon, consultations with industry experts, group chats, games, and more.
When: May 12-13. Price: $995 A popular conference for experts in content creation and content strategy for companies and organizations, primarily in the IT field. The program of the event covers several areas related to content strategy, including: analytics and performance, customer experience, workflows, content design for AI and bots, editorial tasks and calendars, hiring and personnel management, and others.
When: May 19-21. How much: Free. The annual conference of the software giant Microsoft for its own and third-party software developers. “Microsoft Build is a place where leading architects, developers, startups and novice programmers meet to discuss the latest technology trends and innovate for the future,” the organizers say. During the event, there will be a number of online presentations with practical demonstrations, interaction with attendees, networking and case studies.
When: June 16-17 Cost: Free. And of course DeveloperWeek, the world's largest conference for software developers, will also be held online this year. Thousands of participants and more than a hundred speeches are expected, contests, awards for the best developers of the year, a virtual hackathon, and a lot more. Presentations during the conference will be divided into a number of streams on different topics, including software development leadership, development management, microservices architecture, artificial intelligence innovation, development technologies, API innovation and others.
