Online internship JavaRush: the start of the winter recruitment is approaching!

Published in the Random EN group
Meanwhile, December arrived. Very soon, 2020 will be history. And, I must say, unforgettable: there is hardly a person who considered this year to be ordinary and unremarkable. And even though we cannot control the world’s upheavals, we can change a lot of things for the better in our lives in the new year. For example, enroll in a JavaRush winter internship, study the necessary technologies and finally find a job as a Java programmer. Recruitment for the internship starts on December 9. And since everyone wants not only to actively study, but also to relax a little during the New Year holidays, we have extended the enrollment right up to January 26, 2021. Online internship JavaRush: the start of the winter recruitment is approaching! - 1To apply for an internship, you need:
  • • Reach at least level 35 of JavaRush;
  • • Submit an application and receive a test task in the internship section (there you need to click on the “Submit Application” button after December 9th);
  • • Solve the task and send a link to it to us.
Studying for the online internship will begin on January 28th and will last three months. Below are answers to frequently asked questions about online internships. If after reading you still have something to ask, write questions in the comments. Good luck with your application! (And in the New Year!)

What does an internship provide?

The internship provides a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in working with technologies that are required to work as a Java Junior Developer, but which are not easy, and some are completely impossible to master by studying on your own:
  • • Spring,
  • • Spring MVC,
  • • Spring Security,
  • • Hibernate
  • • JPA,
  • • JSP,
  • • JSTL,
  • • ORM,
  • • REST,
  • • Bootstrap,
  • • AJAX,
  • • jQuery,
  • • Git,
  • • Junit.
Of course, in 12 weeks of internship you will not have time to study these very serious technologies thoroughly. However, you will get an idea of how they are used in real projects and can legitimately mention them on your resume.

How long will the internship take?

Sign up only if you can devote at least 6-8 hours a week to studying.

What are the conditions for participation?

  • • JavaRush level 35 or higher;
  • • you have (or had, but ended less than a year ago) an annual subscription to Internship, Internship+, Mentor or Premium Project. An active PREMIUM PRO subscription is also suitable;
  • • you have completed the test task and received a confirmation email with further instructions.
If you have already reached level 30, but have not yet reached level 35, level up faster! There is enough time: recruitment for the online internship continues until January 26 inclusive (until 14:00 Moscow time).

Can I upgrade my Premium subscription to Premium Pro?

The updated JavaRush does not provide a mechanism for upgrading subscriptions. If your subscription does not include an internship, you will need to purchase a PREMIUM PRO subscription. Previously, it was possible to participate in an internship only with an annual subscription (Internship, Internship plus, etc.), but now it is possible to pay for the internship monthly by purchasing PREMIUM PRO. Payment must be made every month, starting from the month of recruitment (in this case, December or January) and ending with the last month of the internship - April. Total - 4 or 5 months of payment for the PREMIUM PRO subscription.

I did a test task. What's next?

Leave your contact information in the “ Internship ” -> “Submit Application” section. You must also leave a link to the completed test task in your application.

I can't do the test task. Can I still participate in the internship?

The test task is required to be completed. If you can't complete it, it's probably too early for you to get an internship. Better practice on JavaRush problems, read the theory, and get ready for your next internship.

When is the next internship?

JavaRush internships take place 4 times a year, once a season. The nearest one will start at the end of January 2021, the next one – approximately at the end of May 2021.

I have already completed/started an internship, but have not completed the internship. I would like to go through it again. So it is possible?

Starting with the spring recruitment of 2017, you can complete the internship as many times as you like. If you are registering for an internship again, you do not need to submit a test assignment.

How long does the internship last?

12 weeks. Enrollment is open until January 26, 2021 inclusive (until 14:00 Moscow time), the start of the internship itself is January 28. No applications will be accepted after January 26th. If you don’t have time, you will have to wait for the start of the next internship, approximately at the end of May 2021.

How will everything happen?

You will work on a fairly large project, which will give you a varied experience. The project is designed for 3 months. Every week you will study another technology and add another piece of functionality to the project. The training plan and list of technologies studied can be found here .

How will the classes be held?

At the beginning of each week you will receive a video recording of the lesson (2-3 hours long!). The lecture will include an analysis and explanation of the next technology and homework, which will be completed in a week. Medium difficulty tasks. If you figure everything out on the first day, you will complete it in 1-2 days. If you didn’t understand right away, then you should invest a week.

How will I receive reviews and feedback?

After a week, the internship supervisor posts his own solution, and you can look/disassemble it, regardless of whether your solution worked or not. This is a very effective approach, since analyzing the solutions of experienced developers can be an order of magnitude more useful than making your own somehow. Especially if you spent days racking your brains on how to do everything well, quickly and beautifully. A separate group will be created in Slack where you and other internship participants can ask questions in real time and receive answers from the internship supervisor. He will comment on the technology being studied, his solution and code. But not your code.

Internship registration process

  1. Go to the “ Internship ” section -> “Submit an application”.
  2. Upload the assignment.
  3. Solve the problem. Fill out all the forms (to apply for an internship, it is advisable to use Google mail), click “Submit Application”. After you have submitted your internship application, the internship status on the quest map ( https://javarush.com/ ) will change to “Ongoing: you have submitted your internship application.”
  4. Wait for the results of the automatic task verification (this process takes up to 1 minute). In some cases, you may need to manually check the job, which can take several days.
If you have questions about the test, ask them in this topic or in the Online Internship chat. If you have an individual question, you can send it to internship@javarush.co .
